This year, to perfectly integrate with our venue, Roer’s Zoofari, we’re featuring light sculptures inspired by the world around us, especially the animals! Travel the globe (and through time!) as you pass through the African, Asian, and Ancient Exhibits.Īnd what could be better than celebrating the December holidays together with loved ones among the glow of lights? After November 15, the festival will switch over from Halloween to a Christmas theme, trading in spooky glowing sculptures for festive twinkling sculptures. The festival aims to provide an immersive, magical experience to visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
Every year, we feature new and unique pieces of art. Using light and imagination, LuminoCity Festival explores concepts of transforming creative thoughts, inspired by the world around us, into illuminating works of light and color. Let us bring some life and light to the dark winter nights! A great holiday experience! About this EventĬome join us for a unique and visually stunning immersive experience at Roer’s Zoofari. We were not allowed to safely take cover there, we had to find some place else.Come and enter a world of pure imagination as you step into our immersive festival of light at Roer’s Zoofari. A young employee who’s name I won’t mention came in barn & said we ALL had to leave immediately during the lightning & downpours. Not one of us was more than 2 feet from the entry, we were only in far enough to stay safe from lightning & keep downpours off. My daughter & me as well as a Mom & her 2 small toddlers stood in the entry way of this vacant barn because we couldn’t quickly & safely find cover. The safest & closest place was an empty barn. We were caught off guard & had no safe place to go unless we stood under trees while lightning was striking. I’ve been coming to this pet farm since I was little in the 1970’s BUT today is the last time my family & me will EVER come to Roer’s Zoofari again!! I will be going to Leesburg pet farm or Nat’l Zoo instead!A dangerous thunderstorm with lightning & downpours started while my daughter & me were at Roer’s Animal Park. Just be patient cause cars with little one spend longer than intented, so the line doesnt move fast, its just a loop anyways. Great for little ones and parents also as we enjoyed it too lol. They wont bite you, they are very dainty when fed and the donkeys just open the mouth so you just put the food there. The donkeys and the llamas take the prize on cuteness overload.
We saw several kids almost hanging out the windows to feed them and they would do anything except for the birds (geese, emu those they specify how to feed them because they peck).
Some of them you can pet and they are very tame, these are not squiderish animals for sure. The animals are so cute and tame, they provide instructions when you get there as to how to feed them. You can book your day and time online and buy some feeding cups, if you ran out you can buy more at the entrance or for the second lap you can buy them when turning back around.
They created this self drive tour where you can feed the animals and pet them. The zoo did an amazing job adapting during social distancing and still providing fun for the entire family. I hope you make some much needed changes and we are able to visit next year as I’m sure we will all still be in this because of places like yours taking a very lax approach. The camel ride operations were not wearing masks and did not sanitize the high touch areas of the holder bars on to of the camel after every ride. And I have it on good authority that you do not require or request your staffers to have a COVID test before stating to work at your location nor is there daily temperature checks of your staffers. There were no temperature checks upon arrival and sparse areas to hand sanitizers. We witness several staffers not wearing masks, several patrons not wearing masks over the 2 year age limit per the guidance of the CDC. I wish the same standard of safe social distancing and adherence to CDC guidelines continue for the remainder of our trip, but sadly it did not. We love our planned annual visits up to your farm! This year we were excited to see the pivot you made to the Zoofari with the self guided own car tour.
